Behn + Bates, the German manufacturer of bulk powder filling machinery, have launched their new "Topline" packing system. This system has been developed especially for the filling of free-flowing powdery products into open-mouth bags with filling weights from 5kg - 25kg.

Dependent on customer needs, these machines can be designed for gross filling or net filling. The material and type of bags, as well as the type of bag feed system and closure, can also be determined upon customer requirements.

Behn + Bates take into account the high hygiene standards in the food processing industry by the following machine design characteristics:

• The filling spout, especially developed for the filling of food products, is equipped with integrated bag de-areation.
• The machine base is smooth for easy cleaning.
• The energy cables are fixed in the upper areas of the machine housing and thus outside the dust area.
• The large surface access doors are made of safety glass and close at the same level as the machine housing.
• The possible dust deposit spaces are reduced to a minimum.

After the filling the bags are sealed within the machine. The sealing can be effected by folding, sewing, sealing, gluing or hot-melt reactivating or a combination of these sealing methods.
